Every year, around 338,000 people worldwide are diagnosed with melanoma, the most serious type of skin cancer. In Switzerland, it is now the fourth most common cancer in women, with around 1,600 women diagnosed each year.

Many melanomas start as a new mark on the skin or a mole that slowly changes. They are easy to miss on your own, especially in places you can't see, like your back or the backs of your legs. Found early, melanoma is very treatable, which is why a check with a dermatologist is worth your time.
